Professor Wang was born in March 1970 in Chongqing. He got his Bachelor, Master and PhD degree of computer science at Xi’an jiaotong University in 1992, 1994 and 1996 respectively. He was appointed as the director of the institute of computer science and technology of the Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 1998. Between 1998 and 1999, he worked as senior visiting scholar at the University of North Texas, USA, and the University of Regina, Canada. He was appointed as the dean of the college of computer science and technology of the Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2003.He was appointed as the director of Electronic information technology research institute of Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2011. He is elected as a science and technology innovation talent of the “10000 people plan” of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, a national talent of the "New Century Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talents Project" of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China, a youth science and technology innovation talent of “Innovative talents promotion project” of the Ministry of Science and Technology, an expert of “100 people plan” of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

　　In recent years, Professor Wang has many research results in the field of Rough Set, Intelligent information processing and AI. Now he is the Vice-President of the International Rough Set Society, Senior member of IEEE, an executive member of the council of the Chinese Association Artificial Intelligence, a member of the council of the China Computer Federation. He is also the editorial board member of more than 10 academic journals such as “Transactions on Rough Sets”, etc. He conducted more than 30 National or provincial scientific projects including NSFC and National High-Technology Project. Professor Wang has published about 200 SCI/EI indexed papers and his papers have been cited by other researchers over 7000 times. He wins the first prize of the Natural Science Award of Chongqing city (1st winner), the 2nd prize of the National Teaching Achievements Award of China (4th winner).
